W. Raymond Winspear, age 89 of Rowley Road Wyoming, died peacefully at home, Saturday, July 10th 2010. Raymond was born in Alabama, NY September 12th 1920, the son of the late William J. and Elizabeth Weaver Winspear. Ray spent many years owning and operating his own dairy farm. A lifetime resident of the area, Ray was an avid outdoorsman and conservationist who loved to hunt and fish. He enjoyed many fishing trips to Northern Canada and was a life member of the Genesee County Fish and Game Protective Association. Ray was also the co-founder of the Wyoming Horseshoe Club where he dedicated much of his time.
Ray is survived by his loving wife, of 51 years, Ruby Mallory Winspear and their three sons; Todd (Michelle) Winspear, Mark Winspear, and Lance (Shelly) Winspear all of Wyoming. He is also survived by four sons from a previous marriage; R. Dean (Arlene) Winspear of King Ferry, NY, Clarence (Bonny) Winspear of Bracey, VA, Robert (Caroline) Winspear of Batavia, and Wm. Earl (Cindy) Winspear of Spruce Pine, NC. Ray is also survived by numerous grand, great- grand and great-great grandchildren.
Friends of Raymond Winspear may call on Wednesday, July 14th at the Weeks Funeral Home 123 N. Main Street Warsaw from 2-4 and 7-9pm. Funeral services will be at the funeral home on Thursday, July 15th at 11am with Reverend Mark Hurlburt of Grace Baptist Church in Batavia. Memorial contributions may be made to Genesee Co.
