William C. Wallace, age 65, of Christ Rd. Warsaw, passed away Sunday, May 8th, 2011 at home. He was born in Warsaw, November 27th, 1945, the son of the late George Wallace and Marjorie Pratt Wallace of Deming, New Mexico. A lifetime resident of Wyoming County and graduate of the Rochester Institute of Technology, William worked as a Tool and Die Maker for Markin Tubing in Wyoming. William served his country honorably with the United States Navy from 1963- 1968 during the Vietnam Era on the U.S.S. Simon Lake which was the 1st ship to navigate the Panama Canal. He was a member of the Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter #193, Walter Klein Post #532 of the American Legion, D.A.V. chapter #135, the Harley Owners Group (H.O.G) Brothers of the Third Wheel and a longtime friend of and guest member of the Road Agents Motorcycle Club. William was an avid hunter, trapper and fisherman who loved to ride his motorcycles and was a longtime member of the NRA. In 2000, William made the trip to Sturgis which was one of the highlights of his life. The final years of William's life were devoted to his grandchildren. William was predeceased by his Father, George and his brother, Edward. Survivors include his loving wife of 36 years, Anne Onorati Wallace whom he married August 24th, 1974. Also surviving are his 3 sons, David (Angela) Holland of Ipswich Suffolk, UK, Eric W. Wallace of Buffalo and William Edward Wallace of Miami, FL; a daughter, Tanya (Craig) Caldwell of Sherrill, NY; 3 sisters, Pamela (Kent) Sugden of Ft. Collins, CO, Jeannette Wallace of Wyoming and Judy Caldwell of Weatherford, TX; 2 brothers, John (Louise) Wallace of Rochester and Jim (Karen) Wallace of Warsaw; 7 grandchildren, Angel, Alex, Katie, William, Ryan, Grace and Lilly; and several nieces and nephews. Friends of William may call Thursday, May 12th from 7pm to 9pm and Friday, May 13th from 2pm to 4pm and 7pm to 9pm at the Weeks Funeral Home 123 N. Main Street, Warsaw. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home, Saturday, May 14th at 9am with Pastor Lauren Turner of the United Methodist Church of Warsaw. Burial will follow in Olivet Cemetery Covington.
