William D. Houghton, age 71, of Rte. 19, Belfast, passed away Saturday, March 23rd, 2013, at his home. He was born in Warsaw, November 1st, 1941, son of the late Franklin and Betty Brown Houghton. A 10 year resident of the area, previously of Ventura County, CA since 1971 and originally of the Bliss area, Bill was a member of Eagle Valley Lodge #1161 in Bliss and a 32nd Degree Mason at the Valley of Coudersport, PA. He was a self employed contractor DBA Bill's Landscaping beginning in 1976, then going on to work in the lawn and garden department at Target in Camarillo, CA. Bill belonged to numerous square dancing clubs in Ventura County and was a member of the Rambling Squares Camping Club. He was predeceased by his wife, Darlene Workman Houghton and a brother, Richard C. Houghton. Survivors include a sister, Marjorie Houghton of Centerville; 3 nephews, Jim Young of Freedom, Jeff (Debbie) Young of Rushford and Joe (Griselle) Young of Lantana, FL; a niece, Jennifer Young of Yorkshire; 4 great nieces, Teal Randall, Deanna, Kristyn and Katie Young; a great great nephew, Mitchell Randall and a great great niece, Lacey Randall. Friends of Bill may call Saturday, April 6th, 2013 from 10am to 12pm at the Weeks Funeral Home 123 N. Main St., Warsaw. A memorial service will be held following calling hours at 12pm with his Masonic brothers as celebrants. Burial will take place at a later date in the Lyonsburg Cemetery, Bliss.
