Pete Logsdon, age 89 of Big Tree Road Pavilion, died Tuesday, August 17, 2010 at the Wyoming County Skilled Nursing Facility in Warsaw. Pete was born in Batavia, June 13th 1921, the son of the late Silva and Edna Coffield Logsdon. He was a lifetime resident and longtime owner of Logwell Acres Dairy Farm in Pavilion. Pete was a member of the First Baptist Church of Pavilion and a sixty year member of the Pavilion Volunteer Fire Company. He was a current member of the fire department's exempts. He found joy in collecting all types of farm toys and was very proud to have founded the 4P's 4H Club. Pete was a dedicated family man who will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was predeceased by a son, William Logsdon, two brothers, Eugene and Dale Logsdon, two sisters, Anna Lee Kipfer and Artemesha Mattice, three grandchildren, Mary Beth James , Joseph and Wayne Logsdon, three great grandchildren, Abby Logsdon, Juliette Blume and Madeline Logsdon.
Surviving is his loving wife of 69 years Mary Jane Wellman Logsdon whom he married on May 14th 1941. Additional survivors include 7 sons; Gordon (Donna) Logsdon of Florida, Rev. Thomas (Sherrie) Logsdon of Michigan, a daughter in-law Donna Logsdon of Florida, James (Sheila) Logsdon of Pavilion, Douglas (Joyce) Logsdon of Pavilion, Steven (Patsy) Logsdon of Texas, Arnold (Christine) Logsdon of Pavilion, Daniel (Peggy) Logsdon of Pavilion, 23 grandchildren, 42 great grandchildren, 8 great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.
Friends of Willard (Pete) Logsdon may call on Thursday August 19th 2010 from 2-9pm at the Weeks Funeral Home 123 N. Main St. Warsaw. Funeral services will be conducted at the First Baptist Church of Pavilion at 10am Friday, August 20th with Pastor Phil Green as Celebrant.
