Wayne W. Dersam, age 86, of East Main St., passed away Friday, January 23rd, 2015 at the Manor House in Batavia. He was born in Dale, NY, October 22nd, 1928, son of the late George and Doris Kelly Dersam. A resident of Tavares, FL for the last 25 years, previously of Dale and Dansville, and recently of Batavia, Wayne was the former Highway Superintendent for Middlebury, then retiring from Midland Oil in Buffalo where he worked in asphalt sales. Wayne was a lifetime member of the Wyoming Hook and Ladder and past member of the Wyoming County Superintendents Association. He enjoyed driving and travel, the company of his friends and family, and all aspects of the Manor House. He was predeceased by 2 brothers, Robert and Donald Dersam; a brother-in-law, Harold McCullough; and his long time companion, Esther Rauber. Survivors include a daughter, Mary Lou (Walter) Strathearn of Wyoming; 2 sisters, Betty McCullough of Perry and Marilyn (Roland) Glosser of Warsaw; a grandson, Chris (Michelle) Strathearn of Batavia; a granddaughter, Carrie (Wayne) Bartholomew of Wyoming; 5 great grandchildren; Brent (Beth) Rauber, Brian Rauber, and Barry (Lena) Rauber. Friends of Wayne may call Tuesday, January 27th, 2015 from 2pm to 5pm at the Weeks Funeral Home 123 N. Main St. Warsaw. A funeral service will follow calling hours at 5pm with Pastor Lauren Turner of the United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will take place privately in the Wyoming Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Waynes name to the Rochester Chapter of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation at P.O. Box 368 Pittsford, NY 14534.
