Walter "Wally" Herod, age 73 of Orangeville, NY passed away at home, peacefully, Friday, July 12, 2024, with his beloved wife by his side. Wally was born in Buffalo, June 4, 1951, a son of the late Anthony and Cecelia Bross Herod. He graduated from Hutch Tech. in 1969 and went on to attend Erie Community College before joining the United States Coast Guard. He served honorably from 1970 to 1974 earning the rank of ET2. Upon returning home, Wally began working for Eastman Kodak for over 30 years as a Electrical Technician and continued until his retirement in 2005. He loved everything outdoors including skiing, skating, hunting, riding his motorcycle and driving his Mini Cooper. Wally was a sweet and kind man. He knew how to enjoy a good party, especially Tuesday nights and for the Buffalo Bills games. Wally liked concerts with all types of music, loved watching Westerns and traveling to the National Parks and Hawaii with his wife. We would be remiss if we did not mention his beloved cats, Macavity, Electra, Bomba, and Monk.

Wally was preceded in death by his brothers, Joseph and Charlie.

Survivors include his beloved wife and best friend of 53 years, Anne E. Hanover Herod whom he married November 12, 1971, a brother, Val (Betty) Herod of TN, nieces, Carla (JB) McClintock of PA, Chandra Boyer of Buffalo, Andrea (Adam) Neudecker of VA, nephews, Scott Herod of NC, Donald (Julie) Herod of VA, Richard Whitefield of PA.

A Celebration of Wally's Life will be announced in the near future at the Valley Chapel Free Methodist Church in Warsaw preceded by full military honors. Memorial contributions are requested to the Wyoming County SPCA or to the Wilmot Cancer Center in Batavia.
