Virginia D. Tross, age 84 died Tuesday, February 1st at the Wyoming County Community Hospital in Warsaw. Virginia was born in Rochester, February 1st 1927 the daughter of the late Dudley and Olive Young Morris. She lived in Rochester for her entire life and moved to Warsaw recently. Virginia retired from Kodak as a film processor, after 20 years in 1986.

Survivors include two sons; Tom (Sim) Mulford and Paul (Laurie) Mulford both of Rochester, two daughters; Jackie Schrader of Greer, SC, Gayle (Mike) Pettengill of Maine, three sisters; Dorothy Steg of Happy Valley, OR, Lorraine Morris Kesselring of Rochester, Carol (Earl) Dittberner of Webster, nine grandchildren, four great grand children and one great grandchild survives.

Memorial services will be scheduled privately at the convenience of the family.



Virginia Tross (also known as Ginny) was a fun person to be around always giving a reason to chuckle to those around her. As we grew up I never remember a time without a piano At one time we had 2 Organs and a ¾ piano. At Christmas time her rendition of "Silent Night" would get the family howling Ginny could read music yet still hit the same note wrong. Even after the umpteenth time (and knowing it was to come) we would break into laughter. Still today when I hear a keyboard version it brings a snicker.

Ginny loved shooting pistols which she learned to do from her father Dudley Morris; he was quite a shooter and held many awards from the Genesee Conservation Club. She was a good shot too. Once after marring Parker Lawrence (Jack) Tross as he was a Greece Policeman he took her to the policeman's range unbeknown to him he thought he would teach Ginny how to shoot. When he was done showing her the ropes he let her shoot his 38. After putting 6 in the bull's eye she looked at him and asked was that good? Well the fellow policemen who were around them never let Jack live it down often stating Jack if you need to pull out your gun call your wife!

Ginny wanted to move out west and did so about 20 miles at a time. After moving from the Rochester west to Spencerport then to Brockport then to Albion; lastly she moved south to Warsaw.

Ginny love a good cup of coffee and enjoyed coffee as much as possible. She also loved to read until her eyesight didn't allow her to do so anymore.

Virginia also had a love for cats having quite a few in her lifetime but never more that 2 at a time. Her kids loved dogs and she allowed them to have one at a time her favorite breed of dog was German Sheppard but after her son Tom and his wife Sim took a Sheltie in she became a fan of Shelties too. Many a time her son Tom would go to her house in Alboin, she would ask if he brought his dog.
