Obituary

Virginia R. "Ginny" Snyder, age 97, of Salina St., passed away Monday, June 26th, 2017, at the Wyoming County Skilled Nursing Facility. She was born in Hunt, December 7th, 1919, daughter of the late Howard and Lena Perry Billings. A lifetime resident of Wyoming County, Ginny worked as a printer for Champion in Perry for over 25 years from where she retired in 1981. She loved ceramics, taking trips through Letchworth State Park, and was an avid flower gardener which she took great pride in. Through the years, Ginny had many pets from a calf, a lamb, and numerous dogs; all of which she loved. She truly enjoyed having her family together for Sunday dinners and was all about family togetherness. Sitting on her porch with Paul and those who came to call also brought her great joy. Ginny was predeceased by her husband, Paul Snyder in 2004; 2 brothers, Forrest and Royce Billings; and a great grandson, Trevor Watson. Survivors include 2 sons, Justus "Judd" (Joan) Snyder of Inverness, Florida and Paul (Sherry) Snyder of Wasilla, Alaska; a daughter, Candis Snyder Elam of Warsaw; a sister, Donna (Richard) Blankenship of Perry; 8 grandchildren, Mark (Coreen) Snyder, Beth (Terry) Fowler, Carmen (Phyllis Reed) Elam, P.J. (Claudia) Elam, Brenda Childress, Tammy Watson, Paula Lutz, and Paul (Teresa) Snyder; 18 great grandchildren, 8 great great grandchild, and many nieces and nephews. Friends of Ginny may call Thursday, June 29th, 2017 from 2 to 4pm and 7 to 9pm at the Weeks Funeral Home 123 N. Main St. Warsaw. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home 10am Friday, June 30th, 2017 with Pastor Todd Daningburg of the Valley Chapel Free Methodist Church officiating. Burial will follow in Grace Cemetery, Castile. Memorial contributions may be made in Ginny's name to the Wyoming County SPCA at www.wyomingcountyspca.org.
