Violet A. Strathearn, age 83, of Prospect St. Warsaw, died peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, Saturday, March 7th 2009, at the East Side Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Warsaw. She was born in Castile, November 3rd 1925 the daughter of the late Thomas and Rhoda Johnson Gell. Violet worked for many years in the dietary department at East Side Nursing Home until retiring in 1985. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and flower gardening. Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren. She was a strong woman and will be missed by all who knew and loved her. She was predeceased by her loving Husband Harold A. Strathearn, a Daughter, Diane Adair, 5 Brothers Thomas, James, Melvin, Arthur, and Dean Gell, 4 Sisters, Dorothy Andrews, Marian Milgate, Ethel Green, and Lilian Rood. Survivors include a Son; Donald (Marian) Strathearn of Perry, 3 Daughters; Carol (Bruce) Brown of Wyoming, Linda (Gary) Smith of Perry, Deborah (Richard) Copeland of Wyoming, 2 Sisters; Shirley (Bill) Graham of Covington, and Betty Bassett of Dansville, 11 Grandchildren, 11 Great Grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive. Services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in the Wyoming Cemetery at a later date. Weeks Funeral Home 123 N. Main St. Warsaw is handling arrangements.
