Obituary

Verna Amelia Hulme Schneckenburger, age 87 of Warsaw, died Thursday, September 24th at the Wyoming County Community Hospital. Verna was born February 27th 1928 the daughter of the late Van and Letha Warren Wolcott. A lifetime resident of Wyoming County and dedicated homemaker, Verna was a graduate of Warsaw Central. She attended the United Church of Warsaw where she served as a Deacon on the Board of Sessions. Verna was a 30 plus year member of the Order of the Eastern Star Lodge #299 in Warsaw and served as the District Deputy Grand Matron. She enjoyed sewing and knitting as well as her flower and vegetable gardens. Verna was predeceased by her first husband; William Hulme in 1976 and her second husband; Ralph Schneckenburger in 2011, two brothers; Walter and Roland Wolcott and a sister; Erma Peck. Survivors include three daughters; Marjorie (David) Rogers of Warsaw, Kathleen (Kim Alan) Humphrey of Warsaw, Teri (Philip) Schabloski of Silver Springs, five sons; Edward (Jeanne) Hulme of Warsaw, Douglas (Valerie) Hulme of Johnsonburg, Steven Hulme of Warsaw, Ralph (Nancy) Hulme of Warsaw, Rodney (Lisa) Hulme of Warsaw, a step-son Steven (Deb) Schneckenburger of LeRoy, a sister; Avis Glosser of Warsaw, 24 grand and 28 great-grandchildren and a great great granddaughter as well as several nieces and nephews. Friends of Verna may call at the Weeks Funeral Home 123 N. Main Street Warsaw on Monday September 28th and Tuesday the 29th from 2-4 and 7-9pm. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 30th at 11am with the Rev. Dr. Barbara Therese of the United Church of Warsaw officiating. Memorials may be made in Verna's name to the Warsaw Masonic Lodge #549 or to the United Church of Warsaw.
