Theodore (Ted) Bergum, age 88 formerly of Kelly Road, Middlebury, died peacefully, Monday, January 05, 2009 at Ridge View Manor in Buffalo. Ted was born in Buffalo on February 16th 1920 the son of the late Peter A. and Marie C. (Maier) Bergum. He worked as a carpenter for the Village of Depew DPW until his retirement in 1985 when he moved to Middlebury. Ted was known for his kindred spirit and was just an all around giving and generous man. He enjoyed woodworking, liked to tinker on his old tractor, and was always the camp cook on his yearly hunting parties. He served his country honorably during WWII with the 33rd Armored Regiment 3rd Armored Division. Ted was a kind and gentle man who will be missed by all who knew and loved him. He is predeceased by his loving wife of 62 years, Marie F. (Hutter) Bergum, 2 Brothers; John and Peter who passed away on April 13th 2008, 3 Sisters; Delores Mapes, Dorothy Wegst, and Marie Radecki. Survivors include a Daughter; Patricia M. Kramer of Orchard Park, 3 Brothers; Gerald Bergum of Clarence, Paul (Mary) Bergum of Michigan, Robert (Shirley) Bergum of Alden, and a Sister; Joan Carlson of Depew, 3 Grandchildren; Dr. Jill (Paul Steck) Kramer of Long Island, Megan (Joshua) Almond of Hamburg, and Charles Kramer Jr. of Orchard Park. Friends of Theodore G. Bergum may call at the Weeks Funeral Home 123 North Main St. Warsaw from 9-11:30 am Friday, Jan. 9th. A procession will then be led to St. Michael's Church in Warsaw where a Mass of Christian Burial will be said by Father Lawrence Damian at 12pm. At the conclusion of the Mass, full military honors will be rendered at the church. Burial will be private in the Dale Cemetery following the services.
