Thelma M. Maxwell, age 86, of North Maple St., passed away Saturday, May 14th, 2011, at the Wyoming County Community Hospital in Warsaw. She was born in Middlebury, December 22nd, 1924, the daughter of the late Leslie E. and Theresa Lacy Norton. A lifetime resident of Wyoming County and a 1943 graduate of Wyoming High School, Thelma served her country honorably with the Woman's Army Corp. as a medical technician. She enjoyed going out to eat, reading, playing bingo, cooking, and attending coffee club and her travels to Canada with her late husband. Thelma was a devoted housewife and a pristine housekeeper. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Francis E. Maxwell whom she married December 2nd, 1950. Survivors include a brother, Martin Norton of Wyoming; a sister, Sherilyn (Caryl) Robson of Silver Springs and several nieces and nephews. Friends of Thelma may call Thursday, May 19th, 2011 from 2pm to 4pm and 6pm to 8pm at the Weeks Funeral Home, 123 N. Main St. Warsaw. A funeral service will be held at 8pm, at the funeral home, with Rev. Ron Brown as celebrant. Burial will be private.
