Obituary

Thelma A. Hettrick, age 110, passed away Sunday, December 25th, 2016 at the Genesee County Nursing Home in Batavia. She was born in Pavilion, September 28th, 1906, daughter of the late Earl and Luella Milligan Starr. A lifetime resident of Genesee County, a 1926 graduate of Pavilion Central School, and holder of a dietician certificate from the Mechanics Institute (RIT) in Rochester, Thelma worked as a dietician for Homestead Hospital of Homestead, PA in her younger years. Later, Thelma worked in the Cafeteria at Pavilion Central School along with being a dedicated homemaker. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Pavilion and past president of the Pavilion Senior Citizens. Thelma was predeceased by her husband, Walter Hettrick in 1976; a son, Wendell Hettrick; a brother, George Starr; and 3 sisters, Florence Moulton, Mildred Railing, and Lorena Holman. Survivors include a daughter, Jane (Raymond) Milholland of Williamsville; a daughter-in-law, Marinell Hettrick, 4 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great- grandchild. Friends of Thelma may call Thursday, December 29th, 2016 from 11 am to 1pm at the Weeks Funeral Home 123 N. Main St. Warsaw. A funeral service will be held following calling hours at the funeral home at 1pm. Burial will take place in the Pavilion Cemetery. Please visit www.weeksfuneral.com to offer online condolences.
