Obituary

Stanley M. Hare, age 86, of Salina St. Warsaw, died at his own home Friday, January 7th, 2011. He was born in Gainesville, NY, March 28th, 1924, the son of the late Martin and Edna Prentice Hare. Stanley was a lifetime resident of Wyoming County and worked for many years as a heavy equipment operator for S.J. Groves of Buffalo from where he retired in 1971. He was a member of Local #832 of Rochester, former member of the Wyoming County Vets Club and of Warsaw's Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge #560. Stanley was a very loving and hardworking family man who enjoyed woodworking and crafts. He was also known as a practical joker. Stanley served his country honorably in the United States Army from 1944 to 1946. He was predeceased by a son, Roger and daughter-in-law Carol Hare; 3 brothers, Vernon and Lawrence Hare and Kenneth Relyea; and 1 sister, Lillian Galton. Stanley is survived by his wife, Alice Ebersole Hare; 6 sons, Gary (Darlene), Thomas (Teresa), Daryle (Julie), Keith, Randy and Jim (Sally) Hare all of Warsaw; 1 brother, Norman (Freeda) Hare of Ohio, 19 grandchildren and 32 great grandchildren. Friends of Stanley may call Monday, January 10th, from 2pm to 4pm and 7pm to 9pm and Tuesday, January 11th, from 10am to 12pm at the Weeks Funeral Home, 123 North Main Street, Warsaw. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, January 11th at 12pm with Reverend Winston Platt of Warsaw Baptist Church followed by full military honors. Burial will be private.
