Shirley A. Stanton, age 71, of West Park Rd., passed away Wednesday, August 20th, 2014 at the Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester. She was born in Waterloo, February 24th, 1943, daughter of the late Gordon C. and Doris Ogden Stanton. A lifetime resident of Wyoming County and graduate of Houghton College, Shirley worked as a Job Developer for Rural Opportunities in Warsaw and Batavia. She was a generous, strong and very giving woman who was famous for her scalloped potatoes and ham. Shirley enjoyed gospel music, crossword puzzles, NASCAR, and her beloved dog Jax. She was predeceased by her first husband, Richard Ames; a sister, Betty Stanton; a daughter-in-law, Cathy Joe Ames; a grandson, Donald R. Alexander; and 3 great-granddaughters, Sandra and Adrianna Ebersole and Leliana Bixby. Survivors include her second husband, William Crimbring; 4 daughters, Donna (Ron) Alexander of Middleport, Dawn (Russ) Lawrence of East Bethany, Lori (Don) Hope of Warsaw, and Sharon (Denny) Rawleigh of Dale; a son, Brian (Bonnie) Ames of Wiscoy; 3 brothers, Gordon (Bev) Stanton of Palmyra, Ron (Dawn) Stanton of Martville, and Tyke (Angeline) Stanton of Martville; 2 sisters, Marie (Don) Fisher of Oceanside, CA and Linda (Wayne) Sherman of Martville; 14 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Friends of Shirley may call from 11am to 1pm Saturday, August 23rd, 2014 at the Weeks Funeral Home 123 N. Main St., Warsaw. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home following calling hours at 1pm with Pastor Bob Farnsworth of the Pike Community Church officiating. Burial will take place at a later date in the Elmwood Cemetery, Silver Springs.
