Shirley Elliott, age 79, of South Lake St., Pavilion, passed away Thursday, November 15th, 2012 at the Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester. She was born in Peoria, March 9th, 1933, the daughter of the late Edward and Bernice Parks Johnston. Shirley was a lifetime resident of Genesee County and 1951 graduate of Pavilion Central School. She worked as the accounts clerk for the Town of Pavilion for 25 years, retiring in 2008, and serving under 4 town supervisors. Shirley was a very active bowler and enjoyed bingo and all sports. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Pavilion, current member of Pavilion Fire Department, past member of the Pavilion Fire Department Auxiliary, and served as secretary for many years with the Women's Bowling Association where she was honored as a life member and inducted into the hall of fame. Shirley is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Clifford H. Elliott Jr. whom she married November 17th, 1951; 2 sons, Brian (Nancy) Elliott of Pavilion and David (JoAnn) Elliott of Pavilion; 5 daughters, Karen (Gordon) Almeter of Bliss, Debra Janes of Pavilion, Joyce (Dave) Zaremski of Batavia, Janet Elliott of Pavilion, and Suzanne (Mike) Herold of Pavilion; a sister, Pat (George) Swick of Victor, 19 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Friends of Shirley may call Monday, November 19th, 2012 from 2 to 4pm and 7 to 9pm at the Weeks Funeral Home 123 N. Main St, Warsaw. A Vigil service will be held at 7pm at the funeral home with a fireman's service to follow after. A mass of Christian burial will be held 10am, Tuesday, November 20th, 2012 at the St. Mary's Catholic Church in Pavilion with Father Richard Cilano as celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Pavilion. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Shirley's name to Mary Immaculate Parish, St. Mary's Site at P.O.
