Sherry May Messex, age 93, of Prospect Street Warsaw and formerly of California, Columbus, OH, Pavilion, Caledonia, and Bergen, passed away Sunday, October 16, 2022 at the East Side Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Warsaw. Sherry was born in Paso Robles, California a daughter of the late Lyle E. and Frances M. Weir Bermingham. Sherry graduated from Atascadero High School in 1949 and went on to become a dedicated homemaker, instilling dependability in her children. She participated in her local PTA, VFW Auxiliary serving as treasurer, and was a Pink Lady "Hospital Volunteer" while she was in California. Sherry enjoyed sewing and knitting. She baked fudge at the holidays and cakes year round. She was fond of her hand crafts and sketching flowers.

Sherry was preceded in death by her husband of 36 years, John C. Messex, a sister, Lucille (Orlis) Evans, and her son in-law, Jim Wood.

Survivors include her two daughters, Elsie Michaelides of Columbus, OH, June Wood of Bergen, 9 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and two nieces, Sherry Ann Carter and Terry Lynn Marzuola.

A graveside service will be held at 1pm on Wednesday, October 19, 2022 at Mt. Rest Cemetery in Bergen, New York with Pastor Chris Lonneville of Warsaw's Family Life Church as Officiant.
