Castile-
Sherman H. DeMun, age 70 of Tenefly Rd., Gainesville, passed away in Perry, March 6th, 2012 surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Castile, December 30th, 1941, son of the late Rodney O. and Clara E. Dieter DeMun. A lifetime resident of Wyoming County, Sherm graduated from Perry High School in 1959. He retired in 1996 as a Union Carpenter for Local#276. Sherm loved, his time spent in Florida since retirement, hunting, fishing and his family dearly. He was known to have a true zest for life and as a terrific father, grandfather, and a great dancer. Sherm was a member of the Warsaw Moose Lodge #560 and the Attica Rodeo Association. He was predeceased by 2 brothers, Kenneth Calkins and Edward Smith. Survivors include his loving wife Mary Howard-DeMun whom he married February 20th, 2010; 3 daughters, Christine (Glen) Nix of Clemens, NC, Carrie (Dan) Olin of Perry, and Aimee (Allen) Weierheiser of Castile; a sister, Linda (Jerry) Chapek of Perry; 3 brothers, Rodney (Beverly) DeMun of Noble, OK, Orlo DeMun of Dansville and Karl (Arlene) Calkins of Burlinton, MI; 11 grandchildren, Erynn, Marlee, Adrien, Nathan, Alexa, Cody, Michaela, Chase, Hannah, Justin and Benjamin; 3 great grandchildren, Ezekiel, Obidiah, and Matthias; and several nieces and nephews. A Memorial and celebration will be announced at a later date.
