Ruth N. Howard, age 87, of Linwood Ave. Warsaw, died peacefully, Wednesday, August 20th 2008 at the Wyoming County Community Hospital in Warsaw.
She was born in Wethersfield, NY, May 22nd 1921, the daughter of the late Eugene and Anna (Decker) Courtox. She was a lifetime resident of the area and a longtime member of St. Michael's Church. Ruth held various jobs through the years including Mallory Timers, Embury Lantern and the Warsaw Knitting Mill, but most important of all, a dedicated homemaker. She was a fun-loving and hardworking mother and grandmother who was also a terrific cook. Her loving family was always her priority.
She is preceded in death by her Brother; Louis Courtox, and 3 Sisters; Belle Ackerman, Edna Rosborough, and Eugenie Park.
Survivors include a longtime companion; Donald Brewer of Warsaw, a Son; Garald (June Green) Howard of Silver Springs and 3 Daughters; Donna Carano of Olympia, WA, Lana (Bernard) Corcoran of Batavia, Mary (Sherman DeMun)Howard of South Warsaw, 4 Sisters; Mary Prince of Warsaw, Rose (Bernard) Standish of Warsaw, Martha Morse of Warsaw, Hellen Mower of Warsaw. 7 Grandchildren and 16 Great-Grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews also survive.
A mass of Christian Burial will be held 11am on Saturday, August 23rd at St. Michael's Church in Warsaw with Father Lawrence Damian as celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Michael's Cemetery in Warsaw. Memorial contributions are requested to the donor's charity of choice or the Gainesville Rescue Squad at PO Box 353 Gainesville, NY 14066
