Russell P. Cox, age 87, of East Bethany Rd. passed away Thursday, August 29th, 2013, at the East Side Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Warsaw. He was born Warsaw, December 22nd, 1925, son of the late George and Beulah Cate Cox. A lifetime resident of Wyoming County and 1943 Wyoming Central School graduate, Russell owned and operated Cox Clan Farms in Wyoming for over 50 years. He was a current member of the Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons #462 in Attica, Past Lodge Master of the Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons #549 in Warsaw, former Middlebury Councilman, member of the board of directors at the Cornell Cooperative Extension, Past master of the Wyoming Grange, president of the Wyoming County Fair for 15 years, former 4-H leader, weighmaster for the Pavilion Livestock Market, member and trustee of the Wyoming Presbyterian Church and current attendee of the East Bethany Presbyterian Church. Russell strongly believed in his principles, a sense of fair play and the true spirit of volunteerism. He was predeceased by a brother Arnold (Doris) Cox and 2 sisters, Elinor (Irving) Wallace and Marjorie (Biagio) Maio. Survivors include his loving wife of 62 years, Zora "Zoe" Luce Cox, whom he married August 11th, 1951; 3 sons, Leon (Carla) Cox of Linwood, Leslie (Elaine) Cox of Amherst, MA, and Neal (Holly) Cox of Wyoming; 2 daughters, Ellen Cox-Breaux of Grenada Hills, CA and Susan (Peter Goodrich) Cox of Brentwood, NH; a brother-in-law, Ray Luce of Johnsonburg; 2 sisters-in-law, Hazel (Fletcher) Parker of Perry and Norma Luce of Oneida; 11 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Friends of Russell may call Tuesday, September 3rd, 2013 from 2 to 4pm and 7 to 9pm at the Weeks Funeral Home 123 N. Main St. Warsaw. A Masonic service will be held 7pm at the funeral home. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be made in Russell's name to the Wyoming County Fair Association at P.O.
