Rose Marie Gould, age 97, formerly of York Road and South Street Road Pavilion, passed away peacefully, Saturday, September 21 st at Premier Genesee in Batavia. She was born in Groveland, New York, November 18 th 1921 the daughter of the late Thomas and Petrina Bonjorno Maimone. Rose graduated from Groveland High School in 1939 and went on to work as an insurance secretary and for the Groveland GLF. After her marriage to her beloved husband Harold C. "Mike" Gould, Rose became the bookkeeper for their family farm, "HaR-GO Farms" of South Street Road in Pavilion. A longtime dedicated member of Mary Immaculate Parish where she taught religious education there for over 20 years and the Ladies of Charity in Pavilion. Rose was a very spiritual woman who loved her church deeply. Rose enjoyed flower gardening and was a good homemaker. Rose will be best remembered for her love of family and community. She was a terrific cook and baked wonderful homemade bread.
Rose was preceded in death by her brother, Stephen Maimone and her sister Josephine Caparulo.
Survivors include her two sons, Charles Gould of Batavia and John (Susan) Gould of Pavilion, a daughter Patricia (Richard) Merrill of Carlisle, PA, seven grandchildren, Kathleen (Bill) Zimmerman of Fairport, Michael Gould of Utica, Stephen (Jill) Gould of Pavilion, Matthew (Melanie) Gould of Philadelphia, Daniel Merrill of Carlisle, PA, Sarah (Kevin) Finke of Manchester, MD, Elise Merrill of Bellefonte, PA, four great grandchildren, Jacob, Ben, and Madelyn Rose Finke all of Manchester, MD, and Christopher Zimmerman of Fairport, and several nieces and nephews.
Friends of Rose M. Gould may call on Friday, September 27 th from 2-4 and 7-9pm at the Weeks Funeral Home 123 N. Main Street Warsaw, NY 14569. A mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11am Saturday, September 28 th at the St. Mary's site of Mary Immaculate Parish in Pavilion with Father Innocent Diala as celebrant.
