Ronda R. Potter, age 45, of Meadow Drive, North Tonawanda, passed away at home, Sunday, June 5th, 2011. She was born in Rantoul, IL., November 24th, 1965, the daughter of Robert C. and Lana C. Myers Stanton. A lifetime resident of Wyoming County and recently of North Tonawanda, Roni graduated from Fillmore High School in 1985. She then carried on to complete the Wyoming County Nursing Program from where she received her LPN. Roni worked as a LPN for 18 years at the Wyoming County Skilled Nursing Facility and then most recently with the Degraff Hospital and Niagara Hospice of Lockport. She attended Open Arms Free Methodist Church of North Tonawanda and was very strong in her faith. Roni was known as an angel with a spirit of empathy, always lifting those around her. She was a very giving lady with almost saint-like qualities who radiated peace and joy. Roni enjoyed knitting and was famous for her rich soups and for being a terrific cook. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Ricky Johnson Potter, who passed away May 20th, 2006. Survivors include her parents, Robert (Lana) Stanton of North Tonawanda; a daughter, Ashley R. Potter of Jacksonville, AR; a son, Charlie Johnson Potter of North Tonawanda; 5 sisters, Diana (Doug) Hodge of Centerville, Rebecca (Michael) Noon of Warsaw, Theresa Stanton of Warsaw, Melissa Stanton of North Tonawanda and Joanna (Peter) Bates of Niagara Falls; and several nieces and nephews. Friends of Roni may call from 2 to 4pm and 7 to 9pm, Wednesday, June 8th at the Weeks Funeral Home, 123 N. Main Street, Warsaw. A funeral service will be held 10am Thursday, June 9th at the Valley Chapel, Warsaw with Pastor Ron Sawade and Rev. Robert Farnsworth as celebrants. Burial will follow in the Elmwood Cemetery, Pike.
