Roger L. Christ, age 55 of North Water Street Pike, died suddenly, Tuesday, June 8th 2010 at his own home. Roger was born in Warsaw, August 26th 1954, the son of the late Lavere and Mildred Reding Christ. Roger has been a lifetime resident of Wyoming County and worked the last seventeen years for LaFarge Concrete in Buffalo as a driver. He was a member of Pike Community Church and Teamsters Local #449. Roger enjoyed watching sports on television and recording his favorite shows. He was an avid Celtics and Browns fan. Roger loved his ice cream and even referred to it as a separate food group.
Roger is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Lori J. O'Connor Christ whom he married on June 19th 1982; a son, Paul Christ of Pike; a daughter, Liane Christ of Pike; another son, Jeffrey O'Connor of Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri; a sister, Roberta (Lynn) Broughton of Gainesville, a great niece and nephew Madison and Zachary Stone as well as several additional nieces and nephews and his close companions Rufus and Odie.
Friends of Roger Christ may call on Saturday, June 12th from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the Weeks Funeral Home 123 N. Main Street Warsaw. A memorial service will be held at 3pm Sunday, June 13th at the Pike Community Church with Pastor Robert Farnsworth officiating. Memorial contributions may be made in Roger's name to the church at 52 E. Main St. Pike, NY 14130.
