Robert P. Herman, age 64, of Liberty St., Warsaw, passed away Wednesday, April 18th, 2012 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Warsaw, November 23rd, 1947, the son of Paul and Esther Crane Herman. A lifetime resident of Wyoming County, Robert graduated from Perry High School in 1967. He then served his county honorably with the United States Army. Robert was a self-employed operator, founding Bob Herman Excavating with his wife in 1973 which then became Wyco Construction in 1979. He was a member of the Walter-Klein Post #532 of the American Legion in Warsaw, Perry VFW post #5009, Warsaw Fire Department Exempts where he was President, and the Warsaw Town Council. Robert enjoyed spending his winters in Fayetteville, Texas and loved racing his car "Wyco 1" in Perry. He is survived by his loving wife, Arna G. Herman whom he married April 22nd, 1972; 2 sons, Matthew Herman of Wethersfield and Mark (Amy) Herman of Warsaw; 4 grand daughters, Brooke, Mattie, Emma and Taylor; 2 sisters, Karen (Gary) Thompson of Perry and Laura (Ed Toffeny) LaChance of Greece and several nieces and nephews. Friends of Robert may call from 2pm to 4pm and 7pm to 9pm, Sunday, April 22nd, 2012 at the Weeks Funeral Home, 123 N. Main St., Warsaw. An American Legion and Fire Department service will be held at 7pm with Chaplin Francis Head presiding. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home Monday, April 23rd, 2012 at 10am with Rev. Dr. Barbara Therese of the United Church of Warsaw as Officiant. Burial will follow in the Union Park Cemetery in Wethersfield.
