Obituary

Robert G. Caryl, age 82, of St. Mary's Court, passed away Wednesday, November 2nd, 2016 at the Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester. He was born in Silver Springs, February 12th, 1934, son of the late Melvin J. and Marguerite F. Farnsworth Caryl. A lifetime resident of Silver Springs and 1951 graduate of Letchworth Central School, Robert worked at Morton Salt for 44 years as a Cost Analyst from where he retired in 1996. He was a member of Saint Mary's Church in Silver Springs, Conesus Lake Sportsmens Club, and the Wyoming Conservation Club. Robert enjoyed woodworking and served his country honorably with the United States Army from 1956 to 1958. He was predeceased by his first wife, Berva Knight in 1968; 2 brothers, Willis and Richard Caryl; and 3 sisters, Carolyn Caryl, Marguerite Bush and Marcy Halstead. Survivors include his second wife, June E. Morris Caryl; 2 sons, Daniel (Michele) Caryl of Honeoye Falls and David (Leah Holmberg) Caryl of Geneseo; a daughter, Christina (Daniel) Sheer of Bliss; a sister, Dawn Caryl of Batavia and Silver Springs; 10 grandchildren, 2 great granddaughters and a great grandson. Friends of Robert may call Monday, November 7th, 2016 from 2 to 4pm and 7 to 9pm at the Weeks Funeral Home 123 N. Main St., Warsaw. A memorial service will be held 10 am Tuesday, November 8th, 2016 at St. Mary's Church in Silver Springs. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in Robert's name to the American Diabetes Association at www.diabetes.org or to the Alzheimers Association at www.alz.org.
