Obituary

Robert Bruce Brown, age 70 of Rt. 19, Wyoming, passed away Sunday, February 24th, 2013 at the Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester. He was born in West Virginia, September 26th, 1942, son of the late Ivan and Mary Murphy Brown. A resident of Wyoming since 2004, and previously of Warsaw and Frankfort, Indiana, Bruce graduated Letchworth High School in 1960. He was a past mayor of Warsaw, and worked for Mallory Timers, moving to Indiana after the plant closed. Bruce went on to work for Emerson in Frankfort, Indiana as a Plant Engineering Manager, later becoming division manager of Environmental Health and Safety before he retired in 2004. He was very active in many organizations and facets of the community. Bruce was past Captain of the Warsaw Fire Police, an active and life member of the Rescue Hose Co. with the Warsaw Fire Department, past Captain of the Warsaw Rescue Squad, past Chief of the Warsaw Fire Department, past President of the Wyoming County Firefighters Association, past Deputy Fire Coordinator for Wyoming County, and an active life member of the Wyoming Hook and Ladder Company just to name a few. Bruce also was a member of the board of directors for the National Safety Council, a member of the American Society of Safety Engineers, a life member of the New York State Association of Fire Chiefs, past president of the Wyoming County Volunteer Fireman's Association, and member of the Warsaw Fire Department Exempt and Benevolent Association. He was predeceased by a brother, Barry Brown. Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Carol Strathearn Brown of Wyoming; a son, Terry (Kathy) Brown of Spencerport; a daughter, Tami (Joeseph) Manard of Niceville, FL; a step daughter, Shelly (Steven) Reisdorf of Warsaw; a step son, Timothy (Kelly) Eastman of Warsaw; a brother, Brian (Judy) Brown of Castile; a sister, Barbara (James) Belden of Warsaw; 8 grandchildren, Kara and Rachel Brown, Nicole, Desiree and Cody Manard, Taylor and Jillianne Reisdorf, and Brandon Eastman; and several nieces and nephews. There are no calling hours or services scheduled. Memorial contributions may be made to the Wyoming Hook and Ladder Company at PO Box 36 Wyoming, NY 14591 or to the Warsaw Fire Department/Rescue Squad at PO Box 22 Warsaw, NY 14569.
