Rita Richardson, age 95, of Prospect St. and formerly of Lake St., Perry, passed away Thursday, June 15th, 2017 at the East Side Nursing Facility. She was born in Rochester, May 25th, 1922. A resident of Wyoming County since 1953, and previously of Livingston County, Rita worked as an assembler at Mallory Timers in Warsaw as well as a private home care nurse. She enjoyed crocheting as well as reading mystery and western novels. Rita was a devoted mother and grandmother and found great joy in teaching the residents at East Side how to crochet. She was predeceased by her husband, Oliver "Bud" Richardson in 2013; a brother, Jerry Richards; 2 sister, Marilyn Sailor and Helen Smith; and a grandson, Rory Richardson. Survivors include 4 sons, Doug (Ramona) Richardson of Pavilion, James Richardson of North Carolina, Phil (Carolyn) Richardson of Perry, and Frank Richardson of Rosedale, Indiana; 2 daughters, Marlene Barone of Brooksville, FL, and Marion (Donald) Strathearn of Perry; numerous grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. A private graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family in the Wyoming Cemetery.
