Obituary

Rita J. Logsdon, age 83, of Big Tree Rd., Pavilion, passed away Thursday, August 22nd, 2013, at the United Memorial Medical Center in Batavia. She was born in LeRoy, September 29th, 1929, daughter of the late James and Louise Steamer Parmenter. A lifetime resident of Wyoming County and 1946 Warsaw School graduate, Rita worked as a solderer for Chloride Electronics in Caledonia. She was known for her terrific cooking and enjoyed sewing, quilting, gardening, canning and truly was an all-American home maker. Rita was predeceased by her husband, Dale M. Logsdon; a brother, Donald Parmenter; and 2 sisters, Mary Parmenter and Betty Bianci. Survivors include 6 sons; D. Michael (Mary Jo) of Pavilion, Patrick (Mary) of Pavilion, Roger (Mary) of Warsaw, Joseph (Josie) of Pavilion, Richard (Deb) of Leicester and Arthur (Susan) of Pavilion; 2 daughters, Mary Ann (John) Suozzi of North Carolina and Nancy (Gerald) Booth of Leicester; a sister, Carolyn Parmenter of Pavilion; 17 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild, and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at Weeks Funeral Home 123 N. Main St. Warsaw, Tuesday, August 27th, 2013 at 7pm, with Deacon John Kelly of St. Michaels Church as celebrant. Burial will take place privately in the Mt. Ash Cemetery, Covington.
