Thompson, Richard A. "Beano"
Wyoming-
Richard A. "Beano" Thompson, age 57, Wyoming, passed away suddenly at Strong Memorial Hospital, April 7 th , 2018. Rick was born in Warsaw, October 6 th , 1960, son of the late Jerrold M. Thompson (1981) and Patricia A. Porter (Gene Sr.) Tiede of Pavilion. A lifetime resident of the Pavilion area and a 1978 graduate of Pavilion Central School, Rick went on to earn his certification at the Ohio Diesel Mechanic School in Cleveland. Rick worked 13 years as a Service Coordinator and Master Diesel mechanic for RL Jeffres and Sons in Pearl Creek; previously working at B.R. Dewitt and Jerry Reinhart Enterprises. He worked hard and long days for everyone but still managed to find time for racing. Rick was a big guy who loved his friends like family and went above and beyond for everyone. He was an honest, quiet, and private person, while still being great at listening to others. He believed in doing things right the first time. Rick, like his father Jerry and his sister Debbie, was kind, fun-loving, and will be remembered for his "Thompson" red cheeks and smile. He was a past member of St. Mary's Church in Pavilion and spent years building racing engines for local race drivers as "Beano Engineering". Rick was predeceased by a sister, Debbie Sherman (2015) and a brother Eric Tiede (1987). Additional survivors include a sister, Julie (Joseph) Steinhoff of Cortland, NY and a special uncle, Fern (Donna) Thompson of Batavia, siblings Chip, Kim, Kevin (Rachel) and Scott Tiede, many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and numerous terrific friends. Friends of "Beano" are invited to a celebration of his life on Sunday, April 29 th , from 1 to 4pm at Davis' Country Side Meadows (BW's) 11070 Perry Road in Pavilion. Please visit www.weeksfuneral.com to offer online condolences. Weeks Funeral Home 123 N. Main St. Warsaw has arrangements. Burial will be held privately in St. Mary's Cemetery, Pavilion at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Mary's Church (Pavilion Site) for masses, Pavilion and Wyoming Fire Companies or West Middlebury Baptist Church.
