Richard Geoffrey Nieman, affectionately know as Rick, 65, beloved son, son-in-law, husband, father, and grandfather, Pa, died 8/30/2024 at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, New York. He is survived by Marcy Munger Nieman, his wife of 40 years, whom he married on 6/16/1984, his beautiful daughters Rachel Elizabeth Prince (James) of Perry and Sara Lynn Nieman of Warsaw, his three adoring grandsons, the apples of his eye, Ethan James Prince, Noah Richard Prince, and Theo Joseph Prince of Perry, his brother Robert J. Nieman (Linda) of Livonia, his nephew Robert G. Nieman (Deena), three great nephews, Liam, Lewis, and Landen of Iowa, his mother-in-law, Judith Munger of Perry. Sister-in-law Donna Nieman of North Carolina. He was the son of the late Robert and Carol Nieman of Winter Haven, Florida who preceded him in death in 2003 and 2015. His brother William P. (Bill) Nieman of North Carolina who preceded him in death in 2013.
His father-in-law Seward "Bud" Munger of Perry who preceded him in death in 2015.

Rick graduated Perry Central School in 1977 and worked as a mechanic for many years. He joined the New York State Department of Corrections in 1988 where he worked at Groveland until 2016. He enjoyed camping, fishing, and riding his beloved Harley Davidson for hours on end and puttering around the house, and spending time with his family.

He will be truly missed. A piece of our family is gone that will never be replaced or forgotten. A chair at the table that will never be filled again.

There will be no calling hours. Burial will take place in Glenwood Cemetery, Perry, NY 12pm Saturday, October 26, 2024 immediately followed by a Celebration of Rick's life at the Wolf Creek Event Center, Main Street Castile.

Memorials can be made to Mercy Flight in Batavia in his name.
