Richard J. "Dick" Catlin, age 71, of Morrow Rd., Pavilion, passed away Friday, April 19th, 2013, at the Wyoming County Skilled Nursing Facility in Warsaw. He was born in Syracuse, July 27th, 1941, son of the late James E. and Janet K. Sullivan Catlin. A resident of Wyoming County since 1993, previously of Liverpool, NY, Dick was a 1961 graduate of West Genesee High School. He worked as an auto mechanic, retiring from Darien Lake in 2007 where he repaired rides. He also worked for a time in at the West Genesee School District in Syracuse. Dick was a parishioner of St. Michaels Church in Warsaw and enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, trapping, fishing, sharing his knowledge and talent in archery with his grandchildren, building model airplanes, canning, and was an avid gardener. He served his country honorably in the United States Military from 1962 to 1965. Dick is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Marice L. Masters Catlin of Pavilion, 3 sons, James L. Catlin of Utica, Richard J. Catlin Jr. of Fulton and Kevin P. Catlin of Brockport; 2 daughters, Lisa M. Maxim of Utica and Patricia (Michael) Brown of Pavilion; a sister, Sharon Troch of Pavilion; 7 grandchildren and 2 nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10am, Thursday, April 25th, 2013 at St. Michaels Church, with Father James Hartwell as celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Michaels Cemetery, Warsaw with full military honors. Memorial contributions may be made in Dick's name to St. Michaels Church at 171 North Main St. Warsaw, NY 14569.
