Obituary

Reva Emma (Satter) Phillips, daughter of Jacob Satter and Emma Schoepflin, having lived on this earth for 98 years, has gone home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, October 28, 2013. She was born August 29, 1915 in Middlebury, NY, and lived in the Pavilion area all her life until she moved to Grafton, OH, ten years ago to live with her daughter and son-in-law. Reva was a faithful wife, mother and grandmother, an active member of First Baptist Church of Pavilion, NY, and then First Baptist in Elyria, OH, and she graduated with a teaching degree from Geneseo State Normal School in 1937. Reva was an avid reader, especially of the Bible, which she read through many times and sought to live by. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph A. Phillips, a dairy farmer and Covington town supervisor; their infant son, Timothy; sisters Marion Flanagan and Florence Christy, and brother Melvin Satter. She is survived by her sons, Ralph M. (Phyllis) of Elba, NY; James (Hilda) of Pavilion, NY; Paul (Joyce) of Delevan, NY; daughter Kathleen (David) Little of Grafton, OH; 10 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; 3 step great grandsons; sister Pearl Woodworth of Warsaw; and many nieces and nephews. Friends and family will gather at the First Baptist Church, 10956 Lake St, Pavilion, NY 14525 for a memorial service 3pm Saturday, November 2nd, 2013. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Pavilion or Baptist Church Planters at 36830 Royalton Rd. Grafton, OH 44044.
