Rena M. Sears (Phillipp), age 68 of Warsaw, and previously of Rome, NY, passed away peacefully Sunday, June 30th at the Wyoming County Hospital Skilled Nursing Facility in Warsaw where she resided after a brief illness.

Rena was born in Fort Devens, MA on November 6, 1955 to the late Rolland L. and Evelyn A. Carney Sears. She worked as an LPN at Betsy Ross Nursing and Rehab Center in Rome, NY, fulfilling her desire to care for others. After her retirement, she moved to Warsaw, NY to be closer to family.

Rena was preceded in death by her brothers Donald, Rolland, & Thomas, and sisters Lena, Sandra, Jean, & Valery.

Survivors include her daughters, Barbara Sovocool (James) Shenton of Maryland; Deborah Sovocool (Stephen) Weber of Warsaw; and her son, Michael Sovocool of Rome, NY; her grandchildren, Andrew (Marissa) Weber of Warsaw, Allyson (Jeffery) Royce of Cowlesville, Jessilynn Weber of Warsaw; and Mikey, Brandon and Courtney Sovocool, all of Rome, NY; great-grandchildren, Parker & Tristan Weber and Conrad Royce; her sister in law Karen Sears;  many cousins and numerous nieces and nephews.

There will be no calling hours nor a funeral service for Rena Sears, as per her wishes. A graveside service will be held at Wethersfield Cemetery in Bliss, NY on Friday, July 26, 2024 at 2 pm with Pastor Timothy Fuest as officiant.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the New Testament Church, 7080 Standpipe Road, Perry, NY, 14530.
