Obituary

Wilkie, Raymond J. Jr.

Silver Lake-

Raymond J. Wilkie Jr., age 62, of Monroe Avenue, Silver Lake, passed away peacefully, Thursday, May 14, 2026 at home, with his beloved family by his side. Ray was born in Warsaw a son of Raymond J. Wilkie Sr. of Warsaw and the late Bonnie L. Hulme. Ray was a lifetime resident of Silver Lake and an avid camper. He enjoyed the seasons, whether it be snowmobiling or gardening he could be found outside. Ray was the family's practical joker and everyone will remember his sense of humor and smile. He created masterpieces on his grill and his smoker and enjoyed sharing with others. His grandchildren were his life and he was very close to his sisters as well. Ray was a hard worker beginning his career as a coiler and later worked in shipping and receiving for Markin Tubing in Wyoming, a total of twenty five years before retiring in 2001. He then opened his own business, RJ Wilkie Tree Service which he owned and operated until 2015. Never one to sit still for long, Ray took a job as a groundskeeper for the Federal Detention Facility in Batavia from which he retired in 2023.

Ray was preceded in death by his mother, Bonnie L. Hulme Wilkie and his loving wife of 33 years, Georgeanna Cummings Wilkie.

Survivors include his two daughters, Terry Wilkie of Bowling Green, KY, Heather (Eric) Herrmann of Castile, three sisters, Valerie (Joseph) Putney of Silver Springs, Rachel (Tom LaShure) Wilkie of Batavia, Jennifer (Luis) Valle of Auburn, NY, three grandchildren, Kadence, Kage, and Kambriella Herrmann as well as several nieces, nephews, and close friends.
