Phillip B. Schmidt of Wilder Rd. Warsaw, died Thursday, January 21st, 2010 at the Wyoming County Community Hospital. Phillip was born in Mohawk, NY, October 10th, 1928, the son of the late Phillip B. and Bertha Bennett Schmidt. A 38 year resident of Wyoming County, Phillip worked as an appliance repairman for GE as well as being scoutmaster for troop 558 in Erie County. Serving with the Merchant Marines from 1945 to 1948, he enjoyed playing cards, taking care of his property, hunting, bowling and spending time with his family. Phillip is predeceased by his sister, Esther Narrer and 2 brothers; Lawrence and Ellwood Schmidt. Survivors include his loving wife Trudy Tallman Schmidt whom he married in 1948. He is also survived by 2 sons, Phillip D. (Betty) Schmidt of Hamburg and Phillip B. (Chris) Schmidt of Cheektowaga; 2 daughters, Diane (Norbert) Horn of Warsaw and Meggie (Frank) Vanderwall of Canandaigua; 11 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. Weeks Funeral Home is handling arrangements and there are no services scheduled.
