Peter A. York, age 92, known to many as Pete, formerly of Castile, NY passed away in the early morning hours on August 19, 2026 at the Livingston County Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation.

Pete was born in Warsaw, NY to Arthur and Mary (Burse) York. He moved to Castile, NY following marriage to his loving wife, Mary Jane (Seymour). He is predeceased by his older sister Nancy, his youngest brother David, and survived by wife Mary Jane and his brother Bill York.

In addition, Pete is also survived by his son Jim (Kathleen) York, Jean (Greg) Antkowiak, and Joan (Rich)York-Miller, and five grandchildren; Conrad and Erin York, Nick and Lena Antkowiak, and Anakin York-Miller.

Following his duty in the Army as a Medical Specialist, 4thclass, he was a Union Carpenter, and a Maintenance Mechanic for the NYS Dept of

Corrections. He also served many years in various roles for the Castile Fire and Rescue Department. Pete loved to golf with his Buffalo Street neighbors and in his earlier years was an avid bowler.

A visitation service at Weeks Funeral Home in Warsaw, NY with a Fireman’s Last Call Ceremony will be held on Friday, Oct. 2 from 5:00 - 7:00 PM.
