Peggy A. Bayliss, age 85, recently of Union Street Batavia and formerly Saltvale Road, Warsaw passed away September 9 2026 at the United Memorial Medical Center. She was born in Goldsboro, North Carolina, a daughter of the late William “Vick” and Margaret M. Powell Capps. Peggy graduated from Goldsboro High School and went on to marry the love of her life, Bruce A. Bayliss. Bruce was a career Air Force man and she followed him around the world wherever duty called. She loved her animals, cats, dogs one and all. When they weren't traveling, she enjoyed attending flea markets and playing Bingo.

Peggy was preceded in death by her husband, Bruce in 2022, a William M. Capps and a brother in-law, Thomas R. Setzer.

Survivors include her sister, Barbara Setzer of Asheville, North Carolina, a brother in-law, Robert (Julie) Bayliss, of Wyoming, New York, two sisters, Ruth Bayliss of Warsaw, New York and Debby (Keith) Everts of North Java, New York as well as several nieces and nephews and many close friends that they made throughout the years.

Military honors will be conducted for her husband, Bruce followed by an American Legion Service and she will be interred beside him at 11am, on Wednesday, October 14, 2026 at the Western New York National Cemetery in Corfu / Pembroke, NY.
