Paul R. Donnelly, age 56, of North Maple Street Warsaw, passed away, surrounded by his loving family, Tuesday, November 17th at the Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester. Paul was born in Warsaw, October 20th 1959, the son of the late James Donnelly and Elsa Eck Donnelly of Varysburg. A 1977 graduate of Attica High School and 2007 graduate of Empire College where he earned an Associate's degree in criminal justice, Paul served the people of Wyoming County as a Deputy Sheriff for 32 years before retiring as the Undersheriff in 2009. After retirement, Paul went back to his Alma Mater, Attica High School to teach for the last six years. He was a member of St. Michael's Church in Warsaw and a devoted husband, father and Papa. Paul loved playing golf and watching sports.
Paul was preceded in death by his father; James E. Donnelly, a brother; Patrick J. Donnelly, and a nephew; James P. Donnelly.
Paul is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Connie Hibsch Donnelly, whom he married on July 13th 1979. Survivors include his mother, Elsa Eck Donnelly of Varysburg; two daughters, Sandy (Dave) Grimm of Beavercreek, Ohio and Stacy (Robert) Crowley of Warsaw; a son, Steven (Amanda) Donnelly of Holland, NY; two brothers, Peter (Jane) Donnelly of Attica and Perry (David Prusinski) Donnelly of Holley; and five grandchildren, Adam, Luke, Maggie, Connor, and Dennis; and a sister in-law, Kelly Donnelly of Rochester.
A memorial mass will be held at 11am Monday, November 23rd at St. Michael's Church in Warsaw with Father James Hartwell as celebrant. Burial will take place privately in the St. Joseph's Cemetery in Varysburg at the convenience of the family. Please visit www.weeksfuneral.com to offer online condolences and to share memories.
