WARSAW
Orpha M. Gilbert formerly of Pavilion passed away at the Wyoming County Community Skilled Nursing Facility following a lengthy illness. She was born in Kenmore on March 24th 1937, the daughter of Frank L. and Elsie N. (Schabel) Corthell. She married Harlan E. Gilbert on April 29th 1955 and was a lifetime resident of this area. She worked at ITT Automotive Industries in Rochester on the automotive assembly line for 12 years.
She was an active member of the Ishua United Methodist Church where she was a former Sunday school teacher and sang in the choir. She was a member of Eastern Star and enjoyed spending many hours in the garden.
She is survived by two daughters- Donna Mae (James) Burdick of Delvan, NY and Betty (Miguel) DeJesus of LeRoy, NY, one sisters-Marjorie Luzier of Cuba, NY, seven grandchildren, one great grandchild and several nieces and nephews.
She is predeceased by her husband Harlan Gilbert, son Charley A. Gilbert and sister Janet Emmerson.
Friends of Orpha Gilbert may call from 2:00-4:00PM on Friday August 21st, 2009 at the WEEKS FUNERAL HOME, 123 N. Main Street, Warsaw. Funeral services will be conducted at 4:00PM following calling hours. Pastor Paul Phillips will officiate. Burial will be at the Warsaw Cemetery following the services.
