Oliver W. "Ollie" Ratliff Jr., age 74, of Stockton Rd., DeRuyter passed away Thursday, August 25th, 2016 at the home of his daughter in Warsaw, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Syracuse, March 6th, 1942, son of the late Oliver and Cecile Cline Ratliff Sr. A lifetime resident of the Syracuse area, Ollie worked as Yard Master for CSX railroad in East Syracuse from where he retired. He was an active member of the Calvary Baptist Church in DeRuyter and enjoyed the outdoors, photography, hunting and fishing. Ollie was very passionate about his faith and his family. He was predeceased by a son, Edward Ratliff; a brother, Gregory Ratliff; and a sister, Carol James. Survivors include his wife, Etta "Lorie" Wyckoff Ratliff of DeRuyter; 3 sons, Oliver Ratliff III of Memphis, NY, Brian (Michele) Ratliff of Syracuse, and Richie (Traci Ryan) Ratliff of Tavernier, FL; 5 daughters, Brenda (Dan) Carney of Texas, Cece (Bernie) Quinn of New Hampshire, Laura Lane of Memphis, NY, Lorie "Missy" (Andrew) Allbright of Warsaw, and Corianne Ratliff of Cortland; 4 brothers, David (Joan) Ratliff of Memphis, NY, Jeff (Lori) Ratliff of Bernie, NY, Jim (Shelby) Ratliff of New Woodstock, NY, and Doug Ratliff of DeRuyter; 3 sisters, Linda Dority of Auburn, Donna Ratliff of Syracuse, and Sandy Cline of DeRuyter; 19 grandchildren, a great grandchild, and several nieces and nephews.
