Nancy M. Baylor, age 75, of Bartlett Ave. Warsaw passed away at home Thursday, February 23rd, 2012, surrounded by her loving family. Nancy was born August 3rd, 1936 in Sardinia, NY, the daughter of the late Donald and Marian Lewis Newland. She was a lifetime resident of Wyoming County and worked for twenty seven years as head cook at Warsaw Central School before retiring in 1997. Nancy also worked for many years at the Brown Knitting Mill in Warsaw before it closed and she went on to work for the school district. She attended Rock Glen Baptist Church and was very caring and dedicated to her family, especially with her grandchildren. She was a self taught seamstress and enjoyed making clothing and dresses for special occasions. Nancy was a terrific cook and everyone loved and will miss her homemade bread.
Nancy is preceded in death by her sisters; Gladys Newland and Donna Brothers.
Survivors include her loving husband of 47 years Leon Baylor of Warsaw; a son, Kevin Baylor of Orchard Park, a daughter; Tammy (Edwin) Morse of Castile, four sisters; Rebecca Vonglis of Silver Springs, Linda Hamilton of Warsaw, Bonnie and Tina Newland both of South Warsaw, three grandchildren; Heather (Luke) Burnap of Walworth, NY, Katie (Mike) Ibach of Cheektowaga, Chad (Kristina) Morse of Gainesville, two great-grandchildren, Derek Ibach of Cheektowaga and Nathaniel Burnap of Walworth, NY, and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family and burial will be conducted in the Warsaw Cemetery. Weeks Funeral Home 123 N. Main Street Warsaw has arrangements.
