Obituary

Minnie M. Georgia, age 94, of Orlando, FL passed away peacefully at her own home, Wednesday, November 5th, 2014. She was born in Buffalo, NY Easter Sunday, April 4th, 1920, daughter of the late Henry and Minnie Reutenauer Sauerwein. A resident of Buffalo, Yorkshire, Rock Glen, Warsaw, and Orlando, Minnie ran the Yorkshire General Store from 1954 to 1962 with her late husband, Ben. She also worked as the clerk at the Davis General Store in Rock Glen. Minnie was an active bowler and bingo player, who enjoyed quietly helping others. She was very loving and dedicated to her family, a terrific listener that always had words of encouragement. Minnie was a long time member of the United Church of Warsaw. She was predeceased by her husband, Benjamin Georgia who passed away February 3rd, 1968; a Step-Son, Gerald Georgia in 2011; a sister, Helen Gray; and 2 brothers, John and Henry Sauerwein. Survivors include a daughter; Judy Doty of Orlando, FL; 6 grandchildren, and numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Friends of Minnie may call from 2pm to 4pm Sunday, November 9th, 2014 at the Weeks Funeral Home 123 N. Main St. Warsaw, NY 14569. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home 11am, Monday, November 10th with Rev. Lauren Turner officiating. Burial will be held privately in St. Matthews Cemetery, Gardenville, NY.
