Mary C. Putney, age 67, of North Main Street, Warsaw, died Wednesday, June 30th, 2010 at the Erie County Medical Center in Buffalo. She was born August 12th, 1942 in Nanticoke, PA; the daughter of the late John J. and Mary Modla Lonko. A resident of Wyoming County since 1975 and formerly of Rochester, Mary worked as a laundry aid at Manor Oak Nursing Home for 20 years. She was a member of St. Michael's Church and Warsaw Moose Lodge 560. A devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Mary's greatest love was passing the knowledge of cooking and canning down to her children and grandchildren. Mary also enjoyed traveling with her sisters. She is predeceased by her husband, William D. Putney who passed away July 6th, 1999. Mary is survived by 3 sons, Joseph (Valerie) Putney of Silver Springs, William Putney of Warsaw, and Timothy (Victoria) Putney of Perry; 2 daughters, Karen (Brian) Miller of Geneva and Jennifer Putney Tallman of Warsaw; 1 brother, John (Lil) Lonko of Grand Island; 3 sisters, Anne Vega of Buffalo, Sue (Paul) Breitenbach of West Seneca and Marge (Mickey) Woods of Buffalo; 9 grandchildren, 1 great-grandson and several nieces and nephews. Friends of Mary may call Friday, July 2nd from 2pm to 4pm and 7pm to 9pm at the Weeks Funeral Home, 123 N. Main Street. Funeral services will be held 10 am, Saturday, July 3rd at the funeral home.
