Mary Jane Smith-Pim, age 68, of Warsaw, NY, passed away on March 31st 2026 at Highland Hospital in Rochester after a lengthy battle with cancer. Mary lived a life defined by strength, humor, and deep care for others.

She was born in Buffalo, March 11, 1958, a daughter of the late Richard Sr. and Anna Mae Colvin Smith.

She was preceded in death by a baby sister, Cheryl Lynn Smith, and a brother in-law, Philip Hoffman.

Mary is survived by her devoted husband, David Pim; her children, Tonya Wawrzycki (Timothy), Matthew Harris (Jaclyn), and Tracy Harris (Derek); and her beloved grandchildren, Hunter (Malia Ras), Marlo Jane, Jett, Harper Ann, Sawyer, and Asher, who knew her as "Nana." She is also survived by her siblings, Michael Smith (Deborah), Karen Held (Daniel), Patrick Smith (Lisa), Colleen Hoffman, Debbie Bennett (John), Maureen Ingay (Ronald), Richard Smith II (Stacy), Shirley Hartman (Eugene), and Sharon Herman (Rick), along with aunts and uncles and several nieces and nephews, whom she adored.

A proud Licensed Practical Nurse, Mary dedicated her career to caring for others, a role she carried into every part of her life, including time spent at the local Veterans Club. She was loving, giving, funny, and full of personality—charming and tough, a true fighter.

Mary found joy in life's simple moments: time with friends, camping on the St. Lawrence, cookouts, seafood boils, crocheting, concerts, and walks in the woods. Later in life, her greatest focus was her family. She took pride in making holidays special and was known for the "Nana Effect"—creating warmth, laughter, and lasting memories. She had a way of telling a story and, "…at any rate," reminding everyone to keep perspective and find light, even in difficult times. Mary will be forever be remembered locally for her beautiful smile and awesome sense of humor.
