Marvin T. "Pete" Royce, age 80, of Royce Rd., Johnsonburg, passed away Monday, October 27th, 2014 at the Wyoming County Skilled Nursing Facility in Warsaw. He was born in Johnsonburg, March 16th, 1934, son of the late Theodore and Ruth Syler Royce. A lifetime resident of Wyoming County, Pete owned and operated his own dairy farm for over 30 years, then working as truck driver for Carney and Fugle Inc. in Attica from 1977 to 1999, at which time he retired. He enjoyed playing the guitar, driving his truck, tractor pulling and using horses for sugaring in the spring. Pete was predeceased by 2 sons, Douglas and Dennis Royce; 2 sisters, Helen Luce and Mary Royce; and a brother, John Royce. Survivors include his loving wife Rosemary Dailey Royce; a son, Donald (Dianne) Royce of Johnsonburg; a daughter, Dawn (Frank) Matteson of Johnsonburg; a sister, Esther (Norman) Fisher of Greeley, CO; a brother, Bud (Peggy) Royce of Batavia; a sister-in-law, Priscilla Royce of Johnsonburg; a daughter-in-law, Linda (Rick) George of Machias and a granddaughter, Heidi Royce of Orchard Park. Friends may call Saturday, November 1st, from 11am to 1pm at the Weeks Funeral Home 123 N. Main St. Warsaw. A funeral service will be held following calling hours at the funeral home with Reverend Mark Weber of Valley Chapel Free Methodist officiating . Burial will follow privately in the Johnsonburg Cemetery.
