Marice L. "Leona" Catlin, age 76, of North Main St., passed away Friday, August 21st, 2015 at the Wyoming County Skilled Nursing Facility in Warsaw. She was born in St. Augustine, FL, August 2nd, 1939, daughter of the late Joseph Lloyd Masters and Alethea Cruz. A resident of Wyoming County since 1993, previously of Syracuse since 1976, Leona worked for Syracuse University, John Crane Inc., and finally as a secretary for BR Dewitt from where she retired in 1999. She was a member of St. Michael's Church in Warsaw, a former USO Girl in Miami, FL, and volunteer at the Wyoming County Skilled Nursing Facility. Leona was an avid vegetable and flower gardener who enjoyed reading, watching TV, watercolor painting and chalk drawing. She also enjoyed writing children's stories, poetry and crocheting lap blankets. Leona was predeceased by her loving husband, Richard J. "Dick" Catlin; 2 sisters, Lloydine McGuinn and Jenice Robinette; and a brother, Roland Masters. Survivors include 3 sons, James L. Catlin of Utica, Richard J. Catlin Jr. of Pulaski, and Kevin P. Catlin of Brockport; 2 daughters, Lisa M. Maxim of Utica and Patricia (Michael) Brown of Pavilion; 7 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, 3 nephews and a niece. Friends of Leona may call from 2pm to 4pm and 7pm to 9pm Thursday, August 27th, 2015 at the Weeks Funeral Home 123 N. Main St. Warsaw. A vigil service will be held at 7pm with Deacon John Kelly. A memorial mass will be held at St. Michael's Church 10am Friday, August 28th, with Father James Hartwell officiating. Burial will take place following mass in St. Michaels Cemetery.
