Madelynn C. Thayer, age 78 of Wyoming Street Warsaw, passed away suddenly, on Wednesday, June 11, 2025 at Sister's of Mercy Hospital in Buffalo. Madelynn was born in Warsaw, February 21, 1947, the daughter of the late Robert and Margaret Campbell Powers. A 1965 graduate of Warsaw Central School, Madelynn worked as an office manager for Rochester Gas and Electric in Geneseo and more recently Fillmore for 35+ years before retiring. She attended St. Michael's Church in Warsaw and loved "Snow-Birding" to Florida since her retirement. She made many friends while camping at Woodstream Campsite in Gainesville. Madelynn enjoyed antiquing and refinishing antiques. She also enjoyed remodeling homes. Madelynn was a longtime member of the Veteran's organizations in Florida and the Warsaw Vet's Club. She was a feisty soul and a private person but had a big heart for all of her dear friends in Warsaw and Florida.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William Thayer in 1983 and her longtime partner, Daniel Rhodey in 2022, and her brother, Gerald Powers in 1998.

Survivors include her nieces, Colleen Powers of Geneseo, Teresa (Andrew) Yeager of Buffalo, Kimberly (Shawn) Grasby of Mt. Morris, a cousin, Ann (Brian) Haynes of Syracuse, many additional cousins, and many dear friends survive.
