Mabel E. Krotz, age 94 of Prospect Street Warsaw died peacefully, Saturday February 12th 2011 at the East Side Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Warsaw. Mabel was born in Warsaw, November 23rd 1916, the daughter of the late Albert and Matie Shea Kelsey. Mabel was a terrific homemaker, but she also worked for many years cooking at the Valley Inn and for the Wyoming County Nutrition Program. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting and was a longtime dedicated member of the Immanuel United Methodist Church. Mabel was active with the church Sunday-School program where she was a former superintendant. She was a member of the United Methodist Women, past Noble Grand of the Friendly Rebekah Lodge, and the Warsaw Golden Agers. Mabel was very kind and socially active. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Mabel was predeceased by her loving husband Stuart Krotz and two sisters; Doris Fisher and Florence Goodenow.
She is survived by two sons; David (Joan) Krotz of Gates, NY, Richard (Eleanor) Krotz of Columbus, OH, a brother; Gordon Kelsey of Warsaw, a sister; Gertrude Carmody of Dale, seven grandchildren, 14 great grand children as well as many nieces and nephews also survive.
Friends of Mabel E. Krotz may call on Thursday February 17th from 2-4 and 7-9pm at the Weeks Funeral Home 123 N. Main Street Warsaw. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Friday, Feb. 18th at 10am with Pastor Matthew Golibersuch of the First United Methodist Church of Westfield as celebrant. Burial will follow in the Warsaw Cemetery. Memorials are requested to the Church or the Warsaw Rescue Squad.
