Lois B. Laycock, age 86, of Linwood Ave., Warsaw, passed away Thursday, January 23rd, 2014 at the Crossroads House in Batavia. She was born in Clarence, September 29th, 1927, daughter of the late Marvin and Nora Berry Croop. A resident of Gainesville since 1955, then of Warsaw in 2005, Lois was a 1945 graduate of Akron High School. She worked on the family farm as well as in the Cafeteria at Letchworth Central School. Lois was very strong in her faith and was a member of the Rock Glen Baptist Church as well as a lifetime member of the Woman's Christian Temperance Union. She enjoyed playing bingo with her neighbors and friends, and was known as a very generous and gentle woman. Lois was predeceased by her loving husband, Charles Laycock in 2005; a brother, Glenn Croop and a sister, Ruth Schuknecht. Survivors include 2 sons, Lamont (Elaine) Laycock of Gainesville and Thomas (Sarah) Lashley of Portageville; 2 daughters, Monica (Terry) Reding of Warsaw and Nancy Cross of Castile; a brother, Marvin Croop Jr. of Newfane; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Friends of Lois may call from 2 to 4pm and 6 to 8pm, Monday, January 27th, 2014 at the Weeks Funeral Home, 123 N. Main St., Warsaw. A memorial service will be held 10am, Tuesday, January 28th, 2014 at the Rock Glen Baptist Church with Pastor Daryn Duff officiating. Burial will be private for the family in the Elmwood Cemetery, Pike.
