Linus G. Eck Jr. age 64 of Thomas Rd., passed away Saturday, May 7th, 2016 at the Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester. He was born in Buffalo, October 28th, 1951, son of the late Linus G. and Ruth B. Bussman Eck the 2nd. A lifetime resident of Western New York, 1969 graduate of Lancaster Highschool, and holder of an A.S. in Business Administration from E.C.C., Linus worked as a Diesel Mechanic for the New York State Department of Transportation in Hulberton, NY. He was a private but genuine man who was devoted to his family and enjoyed collecting Ford trucks and tractors. Linus was a lifetime member of the Western New York Gas and Steam Engine Association and was known to be a jack of many trades and very practical. He is survived by his longtime best friend and companion, Peggy Place of Varysburg; 2 sons, Donald (Sara) Eck of Arcade and Lee Ed (Carree) Eck of Nashville, TN; a daughter, Brandy Wheaton of Lebanon, TN; 5 sisters, Lea (Bill) Ottley of North Carolina, Donna (Helmut) Keiner of Virginia, Dae (Paul) Bugl of Connecticut, Ruth Ann (Dan) Stroka of Lancaster, Marilee (Bob) Fuehrer of Colorado, and; a brother, Gregory (JoAnn) Eck of Pennsylvania; 5 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. A private graveside service will be held in the St. Josephs Cemetery, Varysburg.
